The City of Scotts Valley Americans with Disabilities Act Accessibility Committee will hold its quarterly meeting at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 17 at City Hall, 1 Civic Center Drive. The committee addresses ADA accessibility issues in City public rightofways.

Write-in candidate filing opens
Citizens who wish to file as a write-in candidate for public offices on the June 3 ballot may do so until Tuesday, May 20 at 5 p.m.
Candidates must file a statement of written candidacy and a nomination paper with a specified number of signatures, in order to be included on the ballot. Local offices up for election include the Santa Cruz County Assessor Recorder, Auditor-Controller-Treasurer-Tax Collector, County Clerk, Superintendent of School, District Attorney-Public Administrator and Sheriff Coroner.

Free prep SATs for students
Higher Standards Academy is sponsoring free practice SAT tests for local students. The tests will take place April 12, 19 and 26 at 8 a.m. at Scotts Valley High School, room C-403.

Artists sought for festival
Artists are sought to participate in the 2014 Scotts Valley Art and Wine Festival, August 9 and 10.

Registration opens for Little People’s Repertory Theatre
Registration opens April 13 for new families to participate in Little People’s Repertory Theatre summer musical program.
The 2014 production is “Little Mermaid; The Aqua-Terrestrial,” an original rock musical. Children ages 8 to 14 are able to participate and the junior players program, for ages 3-to-8 is available.
