Scotts Valley Fire Protection District

 

10:32 a.m.: A grass fire on the shoulder of Highway 17’s southbound lanes south of Granite Creek Road was extinguished in about 15 minutes. The fire burned a small portion of dry grass, trees and underbrush along the road. Traffic along the highway slowed while firefighters were on scene.

June 17

8:48 p.m.: A man was arrested at the intersection of Graham Hill and Mount Hermon roads on suspicion of public drunkenness.

 

June 16

4:42 p.m.: A man was arrested on the 1500 block of Robin Hood Lane in Boulder Creek after deputies, dispatched to recover an alleged stolen vehicle, found two additional vehicles on the man’s property that were allegedly stolen.

 

June 14

7:30 a.m.: Police took a report after several items were reported stolen from a shed on the 17300 block of Upper Zayante Road in Felton.

 

June 12

5 p.m.: A fire in a hallway at Brook Knoll Elementary School damaged the cement floor before it was put out.

 

5:21 p.m.: An arrest was made after a person took a cab to a residence on Cheney Way in Boulder Creek, violating a court-issued restraining order.

 

June 11

6 p.m.: Nothing was reported stolen after someone entered a vehicle via a smashed window on the 200 block of Western Avenue in Brookdale.

 

6:40 p.m.: A man was arrested on the 1200 block of Scenic Drive after deputies found him under the influence, and in possession of, psilocybin.

 

June 10

Midnight: Items valued at about $400 were reported stolen from inside a locked vehicle on the 100 block of Madrone Avenue in Felton. A motor home parked on the property was damaged as well, with the cost of repairs estimated to be $1,900.

June 15

8:03 p.m.: Officers stopped a vehicle at the intersection of Skypark Drive and Mount Hermon Road when they spotted the driver on his cell phone. After stopping the vehicle, they determined the driver was drunk and arrested him.

 

June 14

5:59 p.m.: A woman reported someone had keyed her vehicle and broken the rear tail-light assembly in the Safeway parking lot on the 200 block of Mount Hermon Road.

 

June 12

7:16 p.m.: An iPod and a GPS device were reported stolen from inside a locked vehicle via an open window on the 400 block of Lockwood Lane.

 

June 11

10:37 p.m.: A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving, and his vehicle was impounded, after he was pulled over on northbound Highway 17 near the Mount Hermon Road exit. Officers also determined that he was in possession of marijuana and had a fake identification card.

June 17

10:40 a.m.: Highway 9 near San Lorenzo Valley High School was shut down for two hours following a crash between a Toyota Camry and a Ford F150 towing a horse trailer. They collided when the Camry pulled out of a driveway. An 80-year-old man and a 76-year-old female passenger inside the Camry sustained serious injuries and were airlifted to a Santa Clara County trauma center. The Boulder Creek woman driving the truck was not injured.
