A man armed with a handgun stole an undisclosed amount of cash from a check stand at a grocery store in Scotts Valley on Thursday night.

Scotts Valley Police Department seeks a man described as a Hispanic male, 30 to 36 years old between 5 feet, 10 inches and 6-feet tall for the robbery. At the time of the robbery he was wearing a band-aid on left cheek, had a tattoo on his neck and was last seen wearing a grey or brown baseball cap, black or dark-blue hoodie with white lettering that read “Cali”, dark blue jeans and blue Vans-type shoes with white laces.

According to police, the man purchased two items and then drew a handgun and demanded the money in the register. After complying, the man ordered the clerk to the ground and fled on foot in an unknown direction.

The robbery took place at about 9:10 p.m. on Thursday, June 6 in Scotts Valley Market.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Scotts Valley Police Department at 831-440-5670.
