Good choice in dog and handler! I commend you for choosing a mixture of Belgian Malinois and German Shepherd. While it looks to me that local police departments are switching over to Malinois I think its a mistake. While the Malinois is an outstanding performance dog for search and protection they can what I call "tip over" and create unwanted issues for the Handler. The German Shepherd is a completely different dog and often has better nerves. The last thing you want to see the Officer doing is having to constantly keep the dog in check while attending to the "situation" at hand. The mixture of the obedient, trustworthy German Shepherd with the DRIVE of the Malinois might be the perfect mix for a successful relationship. After all your police k9 is truly like a human Officer.I hope you keep us..the public..posted about this potentially fabulous team!
