Candidate forum Tuesday in Felton

The Valley Women's Club and League of Women voters will host a candidate forum for the 5th District Santa Cruz County Supervisor race and San Lorenzo Valley Water District Board of Directors race tomorrow in Felton. 

The supervisors forum will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. and water district forum from 8 to 9 p.m.
Tuesday, October 2 at the San Lorenzo Valley High School Performing Arts Center, 7105 Highway 9 in Felton. 

Candidates running for 5th District Supervisor, Eric Hammer and Bruce McPherson will be present, as will the candidates for the Board of Directors of the San Lorenzo Valley Water District: Craig Austen, Randall C. Brown, Margaret Bruce, and Stephen Swan.

A representative of the League of Women Voters will moderate, using the League’s established procedures of selecting questions submitted in writing by audience members.  For more information: 831-335-1135.

The fact that these directors of a presumed nonprofit take government dollars directly at the largesse of the elected supervisors and then endorse, campaign for, and prop up an inadequate candidate for supervisor is overstepping political boundaries. Not surprising to anyone who is familiar with San Lorenzo Valley politics, but an overstep just the same.
